David Hoke

With over 25 years of experience in enhancing organizational health and wellbeing, David Hoke has been on the forefront of innovation and effectiveness in the field. His tenure across multiple esteemed organizations has been marked by groundbreaking achievements in employee engagement, strategic planning, and the delivery of measurable outcomes that align with business objectives. David has led health and wellness programs at four (4) Fortune 500 companies, been part of three start-ups, and worked across multiple industries including retail, manufacturing, banking, distribution, healthcare and higher education.

As a Chief Well-Being Officer at Thrive Global, David served as a key figure in addressing workplace stress and burnout through science-backed interventions. His strategic approach to serving the unique needs of front-line workers has been deployed across multiple organizations and his ability to integrate with operating models has been central to his success. His initiatives notably accelerated DEI impact within a top 10 global financial firm, with all his recommendations being fully adopted.

David established the well-being function for Walmart associates and managed a $32M budget that delivered comprehensive health and well-being services. His strategic and consumer insight-driven approach helped millions of associates achieve grater financial stability, improved physical health and emotional health while contributing to measurable business results, including, customer satisfaction, decreased turnover and better unit performance.

Prior to Walmart, David established the Global Wellness COE at Yum! Brands. His work included supporting global business units in China, Russia, UK, India, South Africa and SOPAC. His work demonstrated the ability of wellbeing progrms to support unique business needs such as stress related turnover, attraction and retention of talent, and even menu board offerings. This work in behavioral design and executive communication significantly improved engagement and business performance, achieving an impressive 80% average participation rate without incentives.

David is a sought-after speaker, sharing his insights and successes at notable conferences including the Midwest Business Group on Health, WELCOA National Conference, and Fortune Brainstorm Health. His contributions to panels on burnout and wellibeing underscore his commitment to advancing health and wellness in the workplace.
